President's Corner

 President’s Letter

ISM-Nebraska has put together a Professional Development Dinner with an intriguing topic... drones.  Like the technical development of the internet, computers, cell phones, etc. that made its impact on business, you don't want to miss out on the latest technology that is effecting the country right now.

We're combining this meeting with APICS Midland Chapter in the venue of Bellevue University & we're providing this to you free... with food.  ISM-NE will be also awarding three $1000 "Debra Smithers Excellence in Business" scholarships to three young college students in the area of Supply Management.

We are also finalizing our Spring Seminar on Risk Management.  In May, we will bring in a  leading global professional services firm providing  data and analytics to deliver insights that reduce volatility and improve performance.  More information will be coming on this.

Being certified by ISM, is one of the most important decisions you will make. Those letters after your name carry a lot of weight in the global supply management field because they are backed by ISM’s reputation and more than 100 years of credibility.

Stand out from your peers. Earn more. Win promotions. Impress employers. These are the possibilities that a globally recognized ISM certification can help make a reality. it is great pleasure that ISM-Nebraska recognizes the following members who just recently re-certified.

ISM Research: New Study on risk management

ISM have formed a Supply Chain Risk Management Group this year to help tackle the top risk management issues you care about.

To start, we need to better understand your concerns - the primary areas of risk in your organization, how you feel about your supply chain risk and business continuity processes, and finally, how ISM can help.

This survey will help us get started together.

Your input is critical and the survey will only take you a few minutes to complete.

We promise that your responses, along with those of your peers, will remain confidential. Your personal information will not be divulged or distributed and you will not receive any advertisement or solicitations as a result of your participation.

We’ll be compiling the data and sharing the findings at ISM2018 — and in follow-up communications to you.

ISM Report On Business®

The ISM® Report On Business®, Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing, are two of the most reliable economic indicators available, providing guidance to supply management professionals, economists, analysts, and government and business leaders. These are the first reports available on the first and third business day of each month and have been consistently accurate in indicating the direction of the overall economy in addition to the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors. However, the reports are not meant to be the only barometers consulted by those interested in tracking the economy – they should be used in conjunction with other measurements.Read the latest...
